Prof. Simone Borghesi invited speaker at the European Commission
Two exciting days at the European Commission. Today I participated in a very interesting Workshop on "Widening Participation in Clean Energy" organized by International Energy Agency (IEA) with #DGEmployment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. Yesterday I was invited by #DGGROW to give a talk at the European Commission on “Navigating the EU's Green Transition: Challenges, Opportunities and the Role of Emissions Trading” in the #GEM seminar series. A real pleasure to see the seminar's room full and many attendants online and receive so many interesting questions on the results of our ongoing #LIFE project #COASE, and Programme Horizon Europe projects #CAPABLE and SPES Sustainability Performances, Evidence & Scenarios. It’s always a great pleasure to exchange views with the Commission from different but complementary perspectives. Thanks to Román Arjona for having me! As I argued, using the metaphor of #Dante’s journey to Hell, we are navigating stormy waters and “entering the woeful city” of trade wars and retaliations. But if Europe manages to stay together and stick to its principles (on climate policy and beyond) “we’ll come forth to see again the stars
