Il professor Simone Borghesi interviene alla COP30, la Conferenza ONU sul Clima in corso in Brasile
Il prorettore alle Relazioni internazionali parteciperà online a workshops sulle politiche climatiche locali, la transizione climatica ed energetica europea e il mercato globale del carbonio
Il professor Simone Borghesi, prorettore alle Relazioni Internazionali dell’Università di Siena, interviene online alla COP30, la Conferenza delle Nazioni Unite sul Clima, che si tiene fino al 21 novembre a Belém in Brasile.
Il professor Borghesi partecipa, nella giornata dell’11 novembre, al workshop su finanza climatica locale e transizione verso città carbon neutral e resilienti “Local climate finance for a just transition to carbon neutral and resilient cities”.
Nei giorni 15 e 18 novembre interverrà sui temi della transizione climatica ed energetica europea e sul mercato delle emissioni di carbonio. “Anchoring Global Fairness and Social Partnership in the EU Climate and Energy Transition” e “Towards a Global Carbon Market: How to Ensure Integrity and Cooperation” i titoli dei due workshops.
Ha commentato il professor Borghesi: “Sono felice che anche quest’anno l’Università di Siena possa essere così rappresentata nel programma della COP e di essere stato invitato di nuovo a parlare, anche se stavolta dovrò farlo da remoto per mancanza di strutture ricettive a Belem.
Molte delegazioni infatti hanno dovuto rinunciare al viaggio per questo motivo, ma l’importante alla fine è poter intervenire e portare il proprio contributo alla discussione in un momento così difficile del dibattito internazionale”.
Il professor Simone Borghesi è docente di Environmental Economics presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Internazionali, Presidente dell’Associazione Europea degli Economisti Ambientali e Direttore dell’area Clima alla Florence School of Regulation dello European University Institute.
La Conferenza delle Parti (COP) è il più grande evento globale delle Nazioni Unite dedicato a discussioni e negoziati sui cambiamenti climatici.
