QA - Teaching Quality Assurance

Joint Teacher-Student Committee

The Joint Teacher-Student Committee (CPDSS) of the Department is responsible for monitoring the educational offering and the quality of teaching. This includes defining and monitoring appropriate indicators, adequately aligned with ANVUR indicators, aimed at measuring the degree to which objectives in teaching are achieved.

QA - Management Groups

The QA-CdS Management Group coincides with the Teaching Committee. It is responsible for compiling the Annual Monitoring Form and the Cyclical Review Report of the Study Programme.

Committees for Courses of Study

The Committees for Courses of Study are joint bodies of professors, female and male students, typically established for each undergraduate and master's degree programme. They are responsible for the courses, with competencies in their re-design, management, review, and improvement.

Single Annual Data Sheet (SUA-CDS) and Review Reports

The Single Annual Data Sheet (SUA-CDS) is a management tool functional to the design, implementation, self-assessment, and re-design of the Study Programme.

The Review is part of a periodic and planned self-assessment process of the Study Programme, aimed at verifying the adequacy of the learning objectives that the programme has set, the correspondence between the objectives and the results, the effectiveness of how the programme is managed, and includes the investigation of the causes of any unsatisfactory results. The main purpose of the Review is to adopt specific corrective actions for the improvement of the Study Programme and/or its management system.

The self-assessment activity of the Study Programme is realized in two documents which, despite having the same subject, require a different perspective of analysis:

  1. Annual Monitoring Form (SMA), which since 2017 replaces the annual Review Report. The Annual Monitoring Form must be drafted using the model predefined by ANVUR and contained in the annex to the AVA Guidelines (May 5, 2017), within which indicators on students' careers and other quantitative monitoring indicators are presented, which the Study Programmes must comment on concisely on an annual basis.

  2. Cyclical Review Report Review report for the entire educational project (whose time frame involves the entire path of a student cohort) and is based on the relevant QA Requirements (R3), with a precise indication of the problems and proposed solutions to be implemented in the next cycle.

Educational Offer of the Department 2024-2025:

  • Master's Degree in International Relations (Class LM-52)

Student Feedback on Teaching

The evaluation of courses is among the measures adopted by the University for the quality assurance of teaching, for monitoring the results and educational processes, and finally to make data available for internal evaluation.

The opinions of male and female students represent a valuable source of information with which the University can identify critical issues and gather suggestions for a continuous improvement of its offerings – not only educational but also services (teaching, administrative, and digital) – that accompany enrolled students during their years at the University.

The University anonymously collects the opinions of the attending student community through an online questionnaire that can also be completed in the classroom using smartphones, tablets, and notebooks.

It is extremely important to complete the questionnaires carefully, as the expressed judgments will be fundamental to understanding what can be improved, with the aim of making the University's educational offering increasingly effective and of high quality.
