Thanks to a long research experience on the topics of mobility, territorial transport networks, the recovery and revitalization of secondary railways, urban regeneration, and the use and reuse of bicycles, in collaboration with public bodies and other universities, some professors have established the Laboratory for Education in Sustainable Mobility (LEMOS).
This structure, within the Department of Political and International Sciences (DISPI), can provide valid scientific support on the analysis of the problems that institutions face in adopting innovative mobility policies, ranging from adequate communication to people about traffic and parking interventions, to the management of relations with transport companies responsible for managing services.
The researchers affiliated with LEMOS are able to carry out applied research projects on the dissemination of a culture of mobility, territorial accessibility, and the design of transport networks, in order to introduce new concepts in terms of sustainability, such as making the right mix between means of transport, for the benefit of the environment. The research also focuses on the communication of technological innovations in the field of mobility, which need to be adopted by the collective mentality: from electric motors to sharing mobility.
