ATTUNE - Activate the University for Climate Change - is an innovative learning program that directly addresses climate change on university campuses by promoting and encouraging actions and initiatives from all components of the university community.
The university community is an ideal environment to influence behaviors in order to produce a more sustainable society, as Universities also have an impact on the local population and directly influence the sustainability of the area in which they are located.
The objective of ATTUNE is therefore to contribute to making Universities increasingly sustainable: focusing on and encouraging change in relation to the lifestyle of the people themselves, while simultaneously working in synergy with the project's working groups to reduce the impact that the university community has as a whole in two phases.
- Phase 1: Invite individual reflection and help participants reduce their carbon footprint in their daily activities on the university campus.
- Phase 2: Create research-action groups that assess and propose actions to reduce the university's carbon footprint.
Our expected results:
- Materials designed to invite action by the university community.
- Online resource platform for the university community to access all the materials needed for the implementation of phase 1 and 2.
- Action program validated in 5 European universities, with the possibility of being managed independently by other universities outside the project.
The 5 Universities involved in the ATTUNE project are: University of Siena, Maria Grzegorzewska University - Warsaw, University of the Basque Country, University of Hildesheim, and Özyeğin University - Istanbul.
