A CHIP ODYSSEY - WEBINAR AND PUBLIC SCREENING - March 31, 2:30 PM

On March 31, 2026, the Department of Political and International Sciences (Polo Mattioli, Aula Cardini, 2:30 PM) will host a public screening of the documentary “A Chip Odyssey” (2025) by Hsiao Chu-Chen, which traces the history of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan, currently the country responsible for 25% of global microchip production and 90% of the most advanced logic chips.

The screening of the documentary will be preceded by a webinar (streaming on YouTube channel Eventi Mattioli) featuring leading experts in the field:
Tain-Jy Chen (Taipei School of Economics, TSE), co-author of the volume “Taiwan’s Semiconductor Miracle” (Routledge, 2026); Ethan Ting (Industrial Technology Research Institute, ITRI); and Ling-Ming Huang (Chung Shan Medical University).

The initiative is organized by the Taiwan Studies Center Siena (TSMC), with the support of the Taipei Representative Office in Italy.

All interested parties are invited to attend. The documentary screening is reserved for attendees in the room.
